Our commitment in respect of personal information is to abide by the Australian Privacy Principles (as set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)), and any other applicable law.

What is personal information?

When used in this privacy policy, the term "personal information" has the meaning given to it in the Privacy Act. In general terms, it is any information that can be used to personally identify you. If the information we collect personally identifies you, or you are reasonably identifiable from it, the information will be considered personal information.

What personal information do we collect and hold?

We will only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide you with the credit assistance and related services you have requested. We may collect the following types of personal information:

  • Credit eligibility information, credit reports from credit reporting bodies, repayment history, defaults, court judgments, and insolvency information;

  • Sensitive information (such as health information or criminal records) where reasonably necessary for providing credit assistance or where required by a lender, but only with your consent or where otherwise permitted by law.

How do we collect your personal information?

If you deal with us directly, we generally collect personal information directly from you in person, by telephone, email, online forms, or through other digital channels (including our website and social media).

We may also collect your personal information from other sources, including:

  • Joint applicants, co-applicants, guarantors, or proposed guarantors;

  • Your employer, real estate agent, or other referees;

In most circumstances it will be necessary for us to identify you in order to successfully do business with you. However, where it is lawful and practicable to do so, we will offer you the opportunity of doing business with us anonymously or using a pseudonym, such as when making general enquiries about promotional offers or interest rates. If you choose not to provide certain personal information, we may be unable to provide credit assistance or process your finance application.

These computer systems use your personal information to evaluate your personal circumstances, filter options, and better identify products which may be suitable or available to you based on your needs and lender eligibility criteria. We, and not the system, will make the final decision regarding which products are recommended to you.

To whom do we disclose your personal information?

We will not disclose your personal information to third parties unless you have consented, it is required to provide our services, or it is authorised by law. We may disclose your personal information to:
